From Pam about Saturday Sampler
you are already a member of our Saturday Sampler group, thank you! If you
are not, and have been considering it, you are running out of time. We
will be accepting new members to the group until our meeting on January
6. After that day, you will be in the "waiting for the next
time" group. There is a $15 registration fee, blocks are free if you
bring your completed block from last time, blocks from previous months cost $6
plus tax. Classes are offered twice each month if you want to sew your

offer isn't around for much longer, so sign up today!
Mystery Club notes from Pam...
Mystery Club #12 is headed for the final meeting of 2017. Blocks
will start to take shape as the pattern begins to emerge. Think you know
how this one will end? Have patience, there are still surprises to
come. Join us on December 30th, and see what clues are given.
Notes from Joey...
It's sooooo cooooollllllldddd! I have to wear my turtleneck sweater today. BRRRR!
I usually like to go outside when it is cold but our back yard still has a lot of wet leaves on it 'cause the yard guys couldn't blow them yesterday. So now my feeties get wet and I don't like wet feeties.
I hope that you have your fur babies inside during this cold weather. We don't want to see anyone to get sick. I hope that you are having a good time with the holidays! My licks and kisses to you, no matter what you are celebrating...
Your pal, Joey
|QUILTING ANGELS CHARITY BEE
The Quilting Angels would like to invite anyone who has
helped in any way with charity quilting at Quilter’s Emporium this year to join
us for the Christmas party on Monday, December 18. It is a pot luck, so bring your favorite food
to share for lunch. (If you are bringing
something that requires bowls, please bring bowls.) I will provide paper goods,
plastic ware, tea, lemonade and ice.
Bring also any games you have that are good party games. We will play games in the morning, starting
around 10:00, then eat lunch, and go home!
I will be bringing some fabrics for “challenge” quilts to
the party for anyone who wants to to look through and decide if you want to
make one for charity. All of the fabrics
are donated. Some of it is quilt kits,
(not cut out), some of it is coordinating fabrics that need a pattern choice,
and some of it is panels that need to be cut apart and sewn into a quilt by a
person more creative than me. Some of
the ladies like to have a challenge, and enjoy designing a quilt out of donated
fabrics, or enjoy finding a pattern to match to a particular fabric line. This is not required! It’s just for fun for anyone who would like
I was able to deliver ten lap quilts to Sugar Land
Oncology last week. Six of the quilts
were Christmas quilts. The nurses there
are always so appreciative. One of them told me that receiving a quilt makes a
patient’s day. I told her that’s why we

to do when the weather gets like this? I

know that with the holiday season everyone is super busy with all the cooking,
cleaning and gift sewing. When you need
a little down time between all of you projects and need something really simple
to work on before you start your next big project, please consider sewing up a
pillowcase for our hospices. Both of our
hospices will continue having new patients to serve even through the
holidays. Having someone in hospice is
always a difficult time, but losing a loved one during the holiday season is
extremely hard. Knowing that people care
enough to do something so special as making a pillowcase for someone they don’t
know can be very heartwarming.
will continue to keep pillowcase kits in the shop through the holiday season so
that anyone willing to help with the Million Pillowcase Challenge can just pick
one up. The kits are free we just ask
that they be returned to Quilter’s Emporium.
Once they are returned we donate them to Houston and Silverado Hospices.

Jo Morton's "Little Women" Club
It is with some sadness that I tell you that Jo Morton has decided to retire her efforts in creating the "Little Women" Club. For 16 years, Jo has worked hard to create fun, unique projects that featured her beautiful fabrics. Jo has decided to focus her attention on designing fabric for Moda, which is a full time job in itself! We wish her well and thank her for all of the beauty she has given us through the years!
A special "Thank you" to Pat Martin, Tammy McCorkle and Rhonda Wilhite for spearheading the Little Women Club for the past few years! We appreciate your hard work!
