0% FINANCING for JANOME MACHINES now through September 29!

If you have been yearning for a new sewing machine, Janome is making life easier by helping you to get into a new machine that will really  make your life easier!

My favorite new model is the 9450 QCD, an upgrade for the 9400.  This slick machine features the 11" throat space, High Light, Stitch Composer software (you can design your own sewing stitches) and other great features that I love in the current 9400.

BUT they have added the following:
Ruler Work quilting foot, Variable Zig Zag Open Toe Foot (QZ), 1/4" seam foot without guide; Open Toe Darning Foot (PH-D), AccuQuilt HP2 Foot, Stitch Tapering capability, 1.5 X Brighter LED Lighting, Auto power off timer (so if you fall asleep at your machine your machine will turn off for you), and an improved easier needle threader feature that they are carrying through all of their new models this fall!

So MSRP on this model is $5499.  When you purchase from Quilter's Emporium until September 30th, we will also GIVE you a Sew Steady Wish table for your new machine and the table's travel bag.  The Wish Table includes an accessory tray and is pre drilled for sewing/quilting circles from 5" - 24" in diameter!  That's a $250 value that is from us to you!  AND we will give you an additional incentive, we will also give you a XL Tutto rolling carrying case for your new machine; that is almost a $300 value!  So you are getting over $500 worth of goodies that I KNOW you will really want and use when you purchase this machine in the month of September!!

Now to make this really interesting for you.  You can get 0%, that's ZERO percent (Interest Free, nada- zip) financing for up to 60 months!  That's 5 years!  Make your payments on time every month and at the end, you won't pay one penny of interest.  That's very, very cool!  That is a monthly payment of less than $100.  This financing offer is through Synchrony and is valid until September 29.

This financing promotion is available on ANY Janome machine, not just the new 9450 (minimum charge $3000).

The quilts for the last Mystery Club are hanging in the shop and they need your votes!  They will hang until the end of September and the winner of the Viewer's Choice voting will win a gift certificate at the shop.  So stop by the shop when you can.  One vote per person please.

These are two pics of the 2019 Saturday Sampler project  "Newfoundland Star".

Sign up for $30 Registration fee and pay $6 for your first block.  Attend the first meeting in November (first Saturday at 9:30am) and you will get your first block.  Attend the meeting and learn how to put the block together and hear about the new stuff in the shop.  When you come to the second meeting in December, bring your first block, all sewn up, and you will get your next block for free.  If you miss a meeting, you just need to pay $6 per block to get caught up.

The setting kit costs $300 which includes everything for this 95"x95" quilt top including binding.  If you purchased the setting kit, you may attend the monthly hands on workshops which will cover how to construct a portion of the setting kit.  The Feathered Star center section will be taught over 3 months.  Starting in January, we will host the first workshop right after the Saturday Sampler meeting.  You must sign up ahead of time so that we can ensure that there is enough room to accommodate everyone.  We will host two workshops, one on the first Saturday and the second some other time during the month.

You may sign up by calling the shop at 281.491.0016.

Until December 31, Koala is offering FREE financing for 36 months on purchases of $3000 or more!  So if there is a cabinet that you wish to purchase, that will be a great time to do so!  Get that quilting room back in shape.  Organize, clean out clutter, get your machine cleaned and keep your items in a Koala cabinet!  When your space is organized, inspiration quickly follows!

 Notes from Joey...

Hey Y'all!

I DID get my hairs all cut on Monday...I'm lookin good!

Mama loves this old picture of me.  I think I fit in the bag pretty good.  I think I can still fit into it.  Hmmm, where is that tote?

We have a lot of ladies coming to the One and Done on Saturday!  Why don't you come and say Hello and see what is going on?  Stay dry y'all!  YAP yap yap!

I'm saying my prayers for all of my 4 legged friends on the East coast.  I hope that that they will all be safe along with their humans.

and kisses, Joey
As always, please keep an eye open for children or animals locked in a hot car!  Thank you!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it tomorrow for the annual pillowcase sew in.  We are counting this day as our charity sewing event for the month.  Come and go as your schedule allows anytime between 9 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.  Help will be needed with pinning, sewing and ironing.  Bring a food dish to share if you will be there during mealtime.  If you want to sew, bring your machine and basic sewing supplies, including lots of thread.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that a church offered to donate some batting to the Quilting Angels.  I picked up two rolls from them on Sunday.  What a generous donation!  I thanked them from all of us, and told them how much we appreciate it.  Thank you, Michelle, for recommending the Quilting Angels for this donation.

Monday, October 15 will be next month’s Quilting Angels charity sewing day.  We will be once again making heart pillows for breast cancer patients during breast cancer awareness month.  Neta Lee has been working on cutting the fabric into hearts for us.  We need donations of polyester fiberfill for this project.  Please bring fiberfill bags to Quilter’s Emporium, labeled for Quilting Angels.  Thanks.

I can be reached by emailing Susan at

I happiest when I’m sewing.  How about you?

Are you excited yet?  Our 24-Hour Pillowcase Sew-A-Thon is tomorrow.  We still putting pillowcase kits together so we are ready to sew for our charities.  Like last year we are hoping to get a head start and get several pillowcases pinned together before the event.  Hopefully we can beat the 300 pillowcases we made last year!

The 24-Hour Pillowcase Sew-A-Thon is a national event.  QE is one of many shops participating across the country to make as many pillowcases as possible in 24 hours.  This will be the fifth year, QE will be participating.  Our Sew-A-Thon begins on Friday, September 14, 9:00 AM and will run until Saturday, September 15, 9:00 AM. This is a come and go event. Some people have just joined us for a little while when they have stopped in to shop; others have spent a part of their day and a few have actually stayed the full 24 hours.  Just because the event takes place for 24 hours doesn’t mean that anyone must commit for the full time.  We would welcome any amount of help you are willing to offer.  There are lots of thing for people to do.  We need people to pin, sew, cut and iron.  (Lots of ironing!)  The day is full of good company, good food and door prizes while doing something nice for someone else. Supply list for the 24 Hour Sew-A-Thon are available at Quilter’s Emporium or by contacting   The Sew-A-Thon is a pot luck event for lunch and dinner, so everyone is asked to bring a little something to share.  Quilter’s do make the best food! Please RSVP to Quilter’s Emporium, so we know how to plan.

Pillowcases from the 24-Hour event are always split with Houston Hospice and Silverado Hospice.  In years past we have also split the donation for the sew-a-thon with the QE Nursing Home Christmas Project and last year with Harvey victims.  Recently the QE Charity Quilt Group donated quilts to Parks Youth Ranch, a temporary home for children ages 7 – 17 who have been abused or neglected by their parent.  The children arrive with nothing more than the clothes on their backs usually.  We are asking your permission to donate a third of our sew-a-thon pillowcases to these children.  If anyone has any objections please contact us at  If we don’t hear any objections we will split the pillowcases evenly with all three charities.  Thanks.

As of Wednesday evening, the National count is 775,120.  On Friday, we will be delivering 134 pillowcases to Silverado.  Our regular September delivery will go to Houston Hospice.
